Beauty within a ring.

I'm engaged to my handsome Ramilo Romeo Raspado!!!!! It will be two weeks come this Friday and it still has not sunk in. I have always been a dreamer when it comes to weddings. I have been maid of honor in three weddings, read scripture for two, was a flower girl for one and planned/coordinated for more than I can remember! I cannot express the excitement that has been swelling up within me these last few weeks! Those of you who have experienced this know the feeling well, those that haven't its simply unreal! But for me this engagement goes beyond the wedding in itself. There is this hidden beauty that has resonated within me that has really been the show stopper in all of this.......the beauty within the ring......

To me this ring is a covenant of a promise being fulfilled.  It is a symbol of an unyielding, faithful, incomparable love. I adore my fiancĂ© and yes I am in love with him but this ring's beauty means more than him. I was once told that a man that loved God would never find me acceptable as a wife. I believed that lie for some time, and my life reflected it by the choices that I had made along the way. But my beautiful Creator told me different, all I could do was trust HIS words against that person's words. I began to pursue my Creator and allowed HIM to teach me and groom me. I trusted HIM. I went through battles, I went through obstacles but my trust for HIM remained and so did HIS promises for me. HE promised me I would be a wife and a mother and it would all honor HIM. This ring is the beginning of that promise coming to flourish. I get teary eyed thinking about it because I wasn't suppose to be here, I wasn't suppose to be with a man as wonderful and perfect as my fiancĂ© but I am! I owe it all to my Creator, Jesus.

To the pearls in waiting,

You're worth the wait. That longing you get when you see others around you in relationships, engaged or married can be satisfied. That satisfaction can only come from HIM, not even your husband will quench that thirst. Be encouraged tho, your Romeo is on his way and will be more than you will ever imagine because when you rest in HIM HE exceeds your expectations.

P.S. Never Settle.

Hello.

My Name is Mylene Colon and I have a passion for Design. I am currently within a Masters of Interior Design Program at Harrington College of Design in Chicago. I believe in beautifying the world, not only through exterior designs, but designs within each and every one of us.

In my eyes, as well as our Makers, we are all Pearls. Some have already discovered this and have begun to shine, others are still stuck in some oyster shell waiting to be opened!

This blog is to uncover the beauty within and around us, from designing rooms, to DIY projects and to examining ourselves. My heart's desire is that you will be drawn ever so closer to the beauty around, within, and through you. In hopes that you will be introduced to it's creator.
